The Commission followed different methods of recruitment for selection of the candidates to the post(s) for H.P. State Government :

 

1) Single Tier :

 

  1. Recruitment through interview (without conducting screening test):

    Where the number of candidates are less in comparison to the number of posts available, the candidates are directly called for interview and selected on merit basis. This method is adopted for selecting candidates for the following categories of posts:

    • Professors of different faculties in Medical / Dental Colleges
    • Director Sainik welfare
    • Deputy Director Sainik Welfare
    • Commandant Home Guard
    • Any other post(s)

     AND

  2. Recruitment through Screening Test:

    Candidates are recommended as per merit on the basis of Screening Test (based on the order of merit) conducted by the Commission.

    The following post are in this category:

    • Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) School Cadre.
    • Physiotherapist
    • State Accounts Services (L.A.D.) – S.A.S.-L.A.D.
    • Any other post(s) of Class-III category.

 

2) Two Tier :

 

  1. Recruitment through interview preceded by screening test:

    Wherever large no. of candidates for some posts are there the method of short listing of candidates by conducting Screening Test is adopted and those who qualify in the screening test are called for interview and candidates thereafter are selected as per merit of Personal Interview.This method is followed for selecting candidates for the following types of posts:

    • Medical Officer (General Wing)
    • Medical Officer (Dental)
    • College Cadre Lecturers
    • Engineers (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical) of different departments/ Board
    • District Attorney (A.D.A.)
    • District Public Relation Officer/Asstt. Public Relation Officer (D.P.R.O./A.P.R.O.)
    • Any other post(s)

 

3) Three Tier :

 

  1. Recruitment through examination followed by viva-voce:

    Through this method of recruitment the candidates are first to appear in the preliminary examination followed by main written examination and thereafter, the qualified candidates are called for Viva-Voce. Merit list is prepared on the basis of written examination plus viva-voce and thereafter the candidates are selected on the basis of merit. The services for which such examinations are conducted are as under:

    • Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services etc. Examination (HPAS).
    • Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services (HPJS).
    • Naib Tehsildar
    • Tehsil Welfare Officer
    • Any other post(s)

 

4) Four Tier :

 

  1. Recruitment through screening test followed by main examination, physical test/walk over test and there viva-voce:

    Through this method of recruitment the candidates are first to appear in the screening test followed by main written examination, physical/walk over test and thereafter, the qualified candidates are called for Viva-Voce. Merit list is prepared on the basis of written examination plus viva-voce and thereafter the candidates are selected on the basis of merit. The services for which such examinations are conducted are as under:

    • Assistant Conservator of Forest.
    • Range Forest Officer.
